Wyandottes

Wyandottes are a very hardy and active breed laying a good size egg - and plenty of them - probably around 180 a year. I keep the following colours: Blue Laced, Gold Laced, Silver Laced, Columbian and Buff Columbian.

They are not quite as docile and cuddly as Orpingtons but can still become very tame if handled regularly. All of my Wyandottes originate from Holland. The colours I keep are very striking and are normally available.

Buff Columbian Wyandotte (large)

These Buff Columbian Wyandottes originate from Holland - I brought them back to the UK in October 2008. They are very nice examples of the breed and a very rare colour.

Chocolate Wyandotte (bantam)

Extremley rare chocolate Wyandotte, birds have very good type and yellow legs which is very hard to come by.

Blue Laced Wyandotte (bantam)

The Blue Laced Wyandotte Bantam is a joy to keep as they eat very small amounts, look great and lay lots of medium sized eggs. They are a hardy breed, laying through most of the winter.

Silver Laced Wyandotte (large)

Large Silver Laced Wyandotte  from dutch imported stock. These are possibly some of the best Silver laced in the country at present.

Blue Laced Wyandotte (large)

My Large Blue Laced Wyandottes were brought in from a top German breeder in October last year, these birds will produce 50% Blue Laced, 25% Gold Laced and 25% Buff Laced. As you can see the markings on these birds are stunning and they look amazing running around the garden.
